Abstract Starting from the pioneering works of Beilinson and Kapranov, derived categories of coherent sheaves on homogeneous varieties $G/P$ have attracted a lot of attention over the last decades. We’ll begin by an introduction into this area and then discuss more recent developments related to Lefschetz exceptional collections, quantum cohomology and homological mirror symmetry.
